Kimberly-Clark
In the summer of 1999 I had an internship with
Kimberly-Clark in LaGrange, Georgia. At KC I was given a great project to work
on.
Developed a new Bill of Materials matrix.
Identified discrepancies in raw material consumption figures. Worked
with process engineers, financial analysts, and production planners to locate
the source of problems.
Used Excel to develop a new process for making weekly production forecasts
for a rewinding machine. Reduced the original process from three hours to fifteen
minutes.
Discovered 160 rolls of old inventory. Developed and implemented a company-wide
process for re-work. Inventory was reduced to 50 rolls in 30 days.
I also met some great friends through work and that made the
summer speed by.
A Lazy Day on the River

My roommate (Tim Powell) and I
Weekend at Benny's

The most challenging part
of the trip ....
fitting everything inside the
moving truck.
