Why Video Updates?
Ever wonder how you change over time? Ever wonder what you were thinking 5 years ago? 10 years ago? I think about it all the time! I marvel at how much my friends have changed over the last 5 years. Being the archivist that I am, I have been frustrated that I can't capture these changes with pictures. In light of this I have decided to conduct a very informal "longitudinal study."

What is a longitudinal study?
As I learned in Psychology 202, the best way to investigate stability and change in personality is through a longitudinal study (a research strategy in which the same individuals are retested after a period of years). In the past these tests have assessed the personality development of individuals. Longitudinal studies suggest that both stability and change can characterize personality. Studies also suggest that for many individuals there is some underlying coherence. The reason why I call this an informal longitudinal study is because I am not covering all the areas of personalities. That could take several days per interview!

What does this mean for you as a BradleyPope.com member?
Every 3 to 5 years I would like to interview you for a few minutes. I will ask you some questions about life; your past, your current priorities, and your predictions, goals and visions for your future. In the next 20 - 30 years I will compile all the videos and pictures I have taken over the years and give them as a gift to you. You can do with it what you will. Preview it alone, show it to your family and friends, or do nothing at all! The videos won't be published or compiled with anyone else's videos (unless I have your permission). If you do not want to participate just let me know - but I definitely think it will be worth your while.

Are these video updates going to be posted to the website?
No. Part of my Original plan was to compile a minute-long video clip on the website to share with everyone how you're doing. The questions that I asked sometimes solicited serious in-depth responses. There were concerns about publishing it to everyone in the world with Internet access. Everyone’s tolerance for what they want posted on the internet is different so I will not publish the interviews to the web.
